Pharmaceutical Shellac SSB®

Chemical description: 
Shellac's molecular formula is C60H90O15, average molecular weight is 1000. Shellac's(95%) main ingredients after hydrolization are compound of fatty series,  hydroxy acid and polyster. Some of the compounds constitute oil phase acid, butin alcohol acid, open alcohol acid and laccaic acid. Alicyclic series structure's major component is laccaic acid. Shellac contains approximately 5~6% beeswax, cereal protein, other foreign matters and small amount of pigment. Shellac's accurate composition depends on its production place and preparation method. This product meets the current USP/NF, EP, JP pharmacopoeia standards.
